Govt. decides to set up an IT-Grievance Redressal Mechanism in order to resolve the technical glitches faced by taxpayers on the GST portal. Govt. outlines the power of IT Grievance Redressal Committee wherein the Committee can approve and recommend to the GSTN the steps to be taken to redress the grievance and provide relief to the taxpayer.
Govt. specifies that through the respective mechanism the taxpayers will be able to get relief in the nature of allowing filing of any Form or Return prescribed in law or amending any Form or Return already filed. However, Govt. highlights that IT Grievance Redressal Mechanism will not resolve any problem related to individual taxpayer stating that it is difficult to resolve the localised issues due to as non-availability of internet connectivity or failure of power supply.
